“Im the happiest I’ve ever been..”

Hi everyone, I’m Lisa Holland, 29, and work at Diva’s Salon in a little bitty town, Wharton, Texas.  My mom, Natalie Drapela, owns the salon she is a true Proverbs 31 women, if it wasn’t for her my twin sister, Edie Churan and I wouldn’t be were we are now! I’m fresh out of Cosmetology school, it actually took me a long time to find my calling I think the answer had been right in front of my face but I kept ignoring it. People kept telling me your so good at hair and makeup you need to do this, but it took me awhile to see it for myself. I had been in child care since I graduated high school, and as much as I love those kids it wasn’t my passion. So I went to our local Junior College and took different courses to get into the medical field, I wanted to be a radiologist, or nurse and at the time I was in very physically and mentally abusive relationship and I was going to move to Louisiana and finish my courses there to be with this person. But it didn’t feel right down in my soul, it was three days until I was supposed to move and I prayed the hardest I’ve ever prayed, and of course it was in the shower I always find myself praying in there! Well that next morning I ended that relationship, it’s like God had removed the film from eyes and I could finally see that it wasn’t right and it was the best thing that ever happened to me! So fast forward to now, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, my last day of Cosmetology school was May 9th, I got married to the love of my life April 6th, and we closed on our house April 3. It’s been such a rewarding last couple of months. I feel so blessed to be working with my family. My mom always starts our morning workday with a prayer and ends our day with a prayer, and throughout our day at the shop we play Christian music. I can feel God’s presence in our salon and I know our clients feel it too. We pray for them, cry with them, and laugh with them. We are truly blessed behind the chair!

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
