Hi my name is Elaine!
I always knew I had a passion for hair. Any chance I had to play with someone’s hair I was all over it. At the age of 12 I even cut my cousins hair with kitchen scissors. Granted it wasn’t my best cut, but I will never forget the confidence I had when I told her “I got this”. I loved everything about hair and makeup, it was what I wanted to do.
When life started getting a little more serious and I really had to figure out what I wanted to be, the hair industry wasn’t an option. My parents pushed college, they didn’t think being a hairstylist was a career. My dad wanted me to be a teacher and my mom pushed nursing school. Even though I hated school, I wanted to make my parents proud so I went to a community college for elementary education. A year in and I couldn’t do it anymore, so I dropped out.
Fast forward to 8 years later, I had a husband and 2 little boys. I needed to do something with my life. Working at meaningless jobs, getting paid minimum wage just wasn’t cutting it. I had to show my boys that no matter at what age, you can be something you’ve always wanted to be. I took a chance and quit working and went to school. It was the hardest year but I had faith that everything was going to work out. After graduating I was lucky enough to find an incredible mentor to work for and learned from.
I now work at my forever home and I am so grateful to be able to do what I love to do everyday. I’m beyond blessed to have amazing clients that make coming into work not feel like “work”. Without my faith in God, I don’t think I’ll be where I am today.
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind“. James 1:6
