I look back to this day and reflect that God had a plan for my life

Hey ladies and gents my name is Amber Jenkins (@amberjenkinshairsyles) and I’m from Virginia! I’m going to get personal if that is okay with you?

When I was in high school I made a very poor decision that lead me to be suspended/ expelled. But on that very day I made that very  poor decision I had a hair appointment that afternoon that I personally was saving up for months to get my hair done. I thought my parents would flat tell me NO that I could not  leave the house but by the Grace of God my parents still allowed me to get my hair done. I remember sitting at my stylist’s chair and just crying to her. I knew my vision to go off to college right after I graduated high school and play lacrosse was long over. I felt like the world was crashing down on me but you know what, my stylist helped me and encouraged me that everything will be okay. So, after that appointment I was still upset with myself but my stylist made me fill so much better.

After I graduated high school, I went to community college and then nursing school, but I always had the passion to do hair and always remembered how my stylist made me feel when I was going through such a rough time in my life. So half way through the nursing program I called my mom and informed her that I was going to drop out of nursing and go to cosmetology school.

Just a couple months into the program I found out I was pregnant with my older son, Brayden. I was so worried about how I was going to go to school, work, and become a mother within 9 months. But I was determined to become a hairstylist. I trusted in God that I was going to do this. And ladies and gentlemen I graduated with honors!

I look back to this day and reflect that God had a plan for my life. He wanted me to help others just like my stylist helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. So if your wondering if you working behind the chair is worth it please know it is! You never know how much someone might need you through the hardest times of their life!💕
